goings on

this week has gone fairy well! the girls started nursery school on Thursday. for the first few days they are only going for an hour each morning, then building up half an hour each day next week, until they get to their final time of 3 hours in the morning every day. in october they will also get a hot lunch at nursery, so their quitting time will be 1:30. this morning was the first time i drove on my own with the girls, and it went very well! didn't hit anything, and i got to the nursery and home again without getting lost! i also took the girls swimming this afternoon and it was a very fun few hours! they are both quite confident in the water, and caitlin can swim for short distances under the water. lauren isn't quite as confident, but is a very strong kicker (and splasher!).

tomorrow i'm going to meet a friend of Hillary's, Jayne, so i am excited for that. also, on sunday i'm going to a church with my new friend Claire, i am also very excited for that! i hope and pray that both of these meetings will lead to friendships that will help me feel more at home here.

one of the many flags in Ballynure.
i bought this plate for Joanne's birthday (Sept 1) from a "Ten Thousand Villages" type store.
Caitlin wearing her builder outfit and calling someone on her cell phone! she watches a lot of Bob the Builder....

  1. Caitlin makes me laugh! And I love the plate!
Today in my world is the famous annual pig roast at the Wall's. It's a neighborhood bar-b-q that has been going on for years, pot luck style with the main event being eating a pig that has been cooked on a spit all day long. I don't know yet if I am supposed to go over and help set stuff up, so I won't unless called upon by name.
    Glad you are well!
    Love you!
