my sister the bride

this past weekend Donny (or Dons as we prefer to call him) finally popped the big question to my big little sister, Amy. of course her answer was a big "Hell yes!" and i am pleased to announce that they are officially engaged! and since Amy is anti-blog, i felt it was my duty to inform the masses (or the 10 people who read this) about this exciting news. the wedding probably won't be for a while, as there is loads of paperwork involved in this cross-country nuptial (Dons is American, for those of you who don't know). i've already declared myself maid of honor and wedding planner...still not sure how Amy feels about that...

as excited as i am for Amy, i am sad too. i know that her marriage to Dons will take her far away from me, possibly to Alaska (who knows, they are those sort of people) or beyond. she has always been a constant in my life; i've always known where i can find her. i've always been the one to leave home, but soon it'll be her turn to pack her bags and follow the love of her life off into the sunset -probably in a old, rusted out Ford, but still! i will miss my sister when that day comes. but i am overjoyed to see her happy and with a smile on her face. she deserves all that and more.

i'm pleased to see by my "christmas wrapping paper" poll that most of you only buy new stuff when the old is finished. one of you uses the saturday comics to wrap. personally, i buy a new roll each year, just for fun. and because i can't resist a new roll of wrapping paper.
